Hello!
We are Scent-O-Philia, and our products are for those who take pride in being a bit different from others. In our store, you will find beautiful soaps, creams, and coming soon — amazing wax potpourri tarts. We use organic grapeseed oil, fair trade African shea butter, kaolin clay, and glycerin of vegetable origin.

As our brand implies, we sell products that not only pamper your body and sooth your soul, but also indulge your sense of smell with their otherworldly aromas.
Our motto is, “Everybody deserves a bit of luxury.”

Not only are our products handcrafted, but the actual scents are unique house blends that are unavailable anywhere else. Did you know that all of our scents are created by an in-house “nose” (that’s another word for perfumer)?

20% of our profits will go to Amnesty International, an organization that champions for human rights.

Our handmade products for bath, body and home are created right here in New York City using the finest natural ingredients available. We abide by a strict code of health consciousness and transparency— absolutely no synthetic dyes, petroleum, SLS, sulfates, phthalates, silicones, EDTA, formaldehyde or parabens in any of our products.

All of our products are handmade in small batches– no melt and pour repackaging, and no ready-made bases sitting in storage containers. Countless hours of research, reformulating and testing (on willing humans) go into each and every original recipe. We take great pride in the creative process, and we’re sure that you’ll notice!

Old Wives’ Tale is all about simple, cold process soaps and enriching bath time products. Products include natural, handcrafted soaps; a few melt and pour creations (made from glycerin bases) like dog soap; BATHSTROIDS ! ! !, which are star-shaped bath bombs for kids and the young at heart; super moisturizing mega bath bombs; beautifully aromatic bath teas; tri-textured aromatherapy bath salt blends; Shea Luxe three-ingredient lip balms with a variety of optional flavors; and aqueous enjoyment.
