Tell us about yourself: I am Tatiana Roulin Russian-American artist based in Sharon, MA not far away from Boston and 3D Mirror Studio is a place for my creative ideas. I was born in Moscow, Russia where I grew up, got my education and got married. In 2001 my family (my husband and my son) and I moved to New York and since that time I started my career in fine art. Since moving to the United States, I work as a freelance artist, designer and illustrator. I created over a hundred artworks both in classic and digital art. My works were in exhibitions in America, Austria, Spain, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Britain, Russia and Japan won awards and diplomas in national and international art competitions. Many artworks are in private collections in United States, Canada and Europe.
Did you gain formal training? I’ve mastered two such different fields as Computer Science and Fine Art. In 1998 I graduated from Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics with a Master of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science having my summa cum laude. In 2001 before we moved to New York I got my second degree BFA in Fine Art from one of the Moscow colleges of Art and Design. I also took many workshops and master classes in both countries Russia and America.
Tell us about your studio? My studio is a brightest and biggest room of our house with a skylight and big window. There are two tables where I create my artworks, a few easels
and a special wall for all my art awards I got over those years.
What types of materials do you use? I use top quality materials and very well known brands such as Prizmacolor, Liquitex, Crylon, Canson, Strathmore, Yarka, Faber- Castell and many others. Mediums I work with can vary from dry to wet. It can be ink, watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel and colored pencils.
What is the one tool you can’t live without? This is very intriguing question. I think my main tool is imagination so I cannot live without it. You know once Albert Einstein said: “Imagination is stronger than Knowledge. Knowledge is limited, Imagination encircles the world”
Do you have set studio hours? Now my studio is just for me, my family and my close friends but in the future I am planning to turn my studio into a small boutique gallery and when I get it done I will definitely set up hours for visitors.
Where do you sell your work? I sell my artworks at local boutiques, art galleries, studios, national/international art shows and of course online at my Etsy store.
Why buy handmade? I would say that any handmade item gives a subtle feeling of uniqueness as if this item was created just for you. In short buying handmade helps you to find and highlight your own identity.
Is there anything else you would like to share? In my creative work objective positive feedback is a very important thing that gives me a sense of direction. I hope to get a lot of positive feedbacks in a future. I’ll do my best in being creative and keep up developing my art career.

Those artworks are so beautiful and intricate. I love the one on the bottom with the feathers – so soft, yet so detailed as well, and the composition is lovely. Beautiful work!
