Hello and greetings from sunny Singapore! My name is Adeline and I am a self taught jewelry and polymer clay bead artist – apart from being a stay at home mom.
Making jewelries is so much a part of my life now. It was by chance that I discovered my creative side when I signed up for a 2 hour introduction to jewelry making workshop for some bonding time with a close friend. I had meant to make jewelries to adorn myself but the obsession was too great to just stop at making for myself and a tad too expensive to support my new hobby. With much encouragement from my husband, family and close friends, I decided to try selling my creations on the internet.
It was quite disheartening in the beginning as I marketed my wares in an auction site back in the year 2005. Everybody seemed to have jumped into the jewelry making wagon at the same time and I felt my creations were not to par. It took me many months to have my first sale take off and I’ve never looked back since! From working solely with Swarovski crystals, I now work with every medium possible which I find will add interestingness in my creations. I enjoy working on contemporary yet artistic designs and make it versatile for the wearer. I have never been happier to have my own little cosy online store where I can showcase my work and “meet” like-minded people; crafters and customers – who share and appreciate my passion.
Apart from jewelries, I had also picked up making polymer clay beads that is featured in many of my one-of-a-kind designs. Upon sensing that our local market was lacking of such handmade beads, I started a blog in 2007 dedicating to selling my handmade clay beads to our local crafters and am truly grateful that it has been warmly received too!
These days, I do not make as obsessively as before since more time is being spent nurturing my two primary school children. I am contented that I can run to my little corner in my study room to work on my creations whenever I need to escape from daily routine or when spurred by a sudden spark of creativity! Though I do wish I have a room to myself where I can dedicate to my craft and dwell in my own world of beads and findings…
In my beading journey, I feel I have matured and am constantly driving myself to strive for perfection in what I do. I believe in giving my customers my personal best with sincerity and you can feel assured that they will come back for more. Experience has taught me that when you are pursuing a passion, people are able to sense it and appreciate what you have to offer no matter the limited quantity produced each time. That’s probably the difference when you are buying handmade. It’s also almost always unique to you!
I am working toward my goal to gain more exposure in the global handmade market and my ultimate dream? A physical quaint little shop one day where I can sell beads and jewelries! Perhaps the day will come when my children are all grown up. =)

Congratulations on your feature, Adeline!
Love your flower beads, are you on Etsy?
Thanks Il for your congratulatory msg! =)
Jodi – Oh I am not on Etsy at the moment. Been hesitating as advertisement cost is a major factor for me. =S
